FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE AND CITY DEPARTMENTS, WELCOME TO SALISBURY!
On November 20, 2023, Randolph J. Taylor was sworn in as the 29th Mayor of the City of Salisbury Maryland. Taylor was born and raised in Salisbury and was a nationally ranked youth tennis player. He graduated from the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland after being recruited to the tennis team for his freshman year. He went on to graduate from the University of Maryland College Park, where he was also a member of the Terrapins Tennis team. Before returning to the Shore, he worked as a legislative assistant for Jack Kemp. Taylor went on to a 25-year career in commercial banking including 10 with M&T bank. He shifted gears in 2017 and founded The Preservation Company Inc. — an historic restoration company that acquires, restores and resells period homes. An interest in the direction of the City led him to his first foray into elected office when he ran for Mayor in 2023. He has two grown children: Madison, who works for WB Mason, and Max, who recently graduated summa cum laude in finance from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). In his free time, he enjoys playing pickleball and tennis.
